Lawsuits
In June 2016, Valve was sued in the American state of Connecticut The lawsuit because of ” illegal gambling” issues ” knowingly created by Valve and three of the trading sites, CSGO Diamonds, CSGO Lounge and OPSkins, including potentially gambling by minors, stating that Valve not only provides the currency in the form of skins for gambling, but also profits from the resulting trades when such skins are won. Lawyers were seeking to treat this as a class-action lawsuit once proceedings begin.
A second lawsuit, also filed as a class-action, this one was initiated against Valve, Martin, Cassel, and CSGO Lotto by a Florida mother in July 2016 shortly after the CSGO Lotto discovery. This suit stated that Valve enables gambling by minors and users such as Martin and Cassel promoted this, this all was considered illegal activities under federal racketeering laws and Florida consumer protection laws.
Or the story of a boy, one of the 44 plaintiffs in the case, who had become addicted to skins gambling when he was twelve years old, using his parents’ credit cards and bank accounts to purchase skins.
Jasper Ward, a lead counsel in both cases and co-founding funder of this loot box claim initiative worldwide, undertook the lawsuits due to his current involvement in the legal investigation into gambling issues with DraftKings and FanDuel, websites that allowed players to bet on fantasy teams.
Jasper stated that ” Valve created and is profiting from an online gambling ecosystem that, because it is illegal and unregulated, harms consumers. Many of whom are teenagers “
Jasper noted that Valve had not issued a response to either casevand believed that the company’s ” public silence is unconscionable ” particularly in light of them unbanning CSGO Lotto.
Our initiative , Lootbox-claim.com , wants you to join this collective mass claim in order to hold Valve accountable for this worldwide fraud.
Loot box fraud, skins became gambling chips, compensate now.
When the existence of this huge skin gambling fraud was discovered in mid-2016, estimates for the economics of skin gambling market had dropped, but by early 2017, financial and expert-analysts found that the market did not drop as much as they expected and with fraudulent gambling sites still open and even expanding, they did not expect to see this diminish in the near future (2017-2024) ,unless the legal matters were resolved.
Analysis firms estimated in early 2017 that even with increased awareness of the legal ramifications of skins gambling, there could be as much as $12.9 billion gambled this illegal way by 2020, compared to their previous estimate of $20 billion made in mid-2016.
So, Valve just continues with it , it is too profitable to let go!
Placing much of the future of skin gambling on Valve and its control over the Steam API that enables the third-party websites: Valve has earlier stated that changing the API to cut off these websites would also affect other in their opinion ‘ legal ‘ activities that could be performed with it, making it difficult for them as they say to enforce without more direct oversight and monitoring by Valve.
It is unclear if our actions and the lawsuits against Valve will come to a full trial in the US, but our attention is being placed on the huge fraud in Europe .
Specifically we urge Dutch and Belgian duped players to act and join this mass claim : we need to get you your money and damages back, even up to an amount of 1.500-5.000 EU per duped claimant / player.
More than money involved:
- As one of our founding and funding partners , mr. Jasper Ward, mentioned..’ Valve created and is profiting from an online gambling ecosystem that, because it is illegal and unregulated, harms consumers, many of whom are teenagers. ‘
- The other founding and funding partner of this mass claim initiative Mr. Orlando Kadir mentioned as well that …’ by deliberately misleading our kids, the next innocent generation, will be duped for thousands of dollars , spending it on lootboxes and skins, without them even knowing about the gambling type of fraud they were lured into…’
Game over!

Why we shall succeed!
- What Valve did is illegal, unconscionable, even unethical and certainly wrong: you were duped and worldwide attention has been created by us to finally solve this matter.
- If and when we reach a minor deal for compensation on your behalf, 35% no cure no pay fee is for our costs and to cover / pay back for the huge risks of the funders creating this possibility for claimants worldwide , the rest 65% is yours.
- This is fair and cost-effective, since litigating against multi billion dollar companies like Valve requires a lot of litigation funding and funders need a % of no cure no pay shares ( 15-20%) in order to take this big risk and get paid for it when it succeeds, if we fail? You pay nothing.
- Thus enabling us to make Valve take their responsibility and compensate the duped consumer like you reasonably and in all honesty, worldwide.
- A collective strong fist and initiative against Valve will make them think twice: we need to stop this fraud.
Our Actions
- Skins are mis-used as a payment method and this has to stop
- A huge amount has to be re-deposited back as compensation to 20+ millions of users worldwide: we need to manage all of your legal claims and start our collective mass claim actions in Europe as soon as possible , for a reasonable and just compensation.
- Your loss is worth ( around 12-16 millions affected users worldwide ) , representing damages into the billions of dollars.
- We want to use the Dutch WCAM / collective redress platform to assure that we achieve a worldwide acceptable settlement preferably in a good joint and in minor agreement with Valve.
- It will not benefit Valve to think they could ever get away with this fraud.
